Day 6 – Passion Fashion

by | Jul 6, 2020 | 99 Days of Transformation | 0 comments

I had a conversation with a client recently who waxed lyrical about how passionate she was about her work. Something just didn’t sit right with me and I quietly scolded myself for being so negative when someone was so zealously expressing the fire in their belly.

But, but, hold it right there! I suddenly knew what it was, it was like her voice didn’t quite reach the high notes of pure joy, there was a certain flatness … These lines were rehearsed.

Is this whole passion thing not getting a bit overrated? Finding and following your passion is all the rage these days and people feel compelled to have one and live it, publically. Even when you’re not really passionate about it at all. The most popular passions are generally the job or the fitness or the meaningful side-hustle they just signed up for.

This peculiar phenomena is most likely due to the fact that you don’t think you know what you are passionate about, or rather, you are ignoring it! You are, aren’t you?! Passion is not something you need to find, it’s right there in front of you. You talk about it all the time!  Your eyes light up when it gets mentioned and you probably read or watch videos about it.

Whatever it is, it’s not a matter of finding it, it’s more a matter of priorities. You know, maybe being passionate about miniture boats is not going to make you any money, nor is it actually cool. But hey, if that floats your boat, embrace it. You have already found it.

Embrace your passion, even if you think other people think it sucks!

It could have been worse, your passion could have been dressing up in really bad clothes with really bad hair and making really (er..) interesting music.

Words are seeds

Words are seeds

Set your passion free ….

… and your passion will free you.
